Dennis Swinnerton started working in the signwriting industry as an apprentice to Bill Crouch of Crouch Signs in Georges Hall in 1961.
Dennis Swinnerton commenced doing signwriting work in 1963 on his own account whilst still completing his apprenticeship. In 1971 Dennis started working for himself full time in premises in North Auburn, employing other tradesmen to help him manage the ever growing work load.
In 1978 Auburn Signs incorporated as a proprietary limited company. Relocated premises to a factory in Carlingford Street, Regents Park.
The business continued to flourish and in 1991 it was decided that with the slow move of the core customer base away from the local area, a name change that was less locality defined would benefit the company and so the company continued to trade in the new name of Signs, Lines ‘n Scrolls.
With the growing size of trucks and trailers, the premises in Regents Park had grown too small to comfortably accommodate a prime mover and trailer with the set-up of the signwriting around it, so in year 2005 it was decided to relocate to the growing area of Smeaton Grange in south west Sydney. The new premises has a full sized spray booth capable of accommodating a 45 foot trailer or tipping trailer plus room for a further 2 prime movers outside of the spray booth.
A full screen printing shop is also incorporated into the premises and in 2009 a digital printer capable of printing 3.2m high truck curtains rounded out the equipment and services offered by the company.
